JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Chief of Product, you will be at the helm of our product strategy and development, driving innovation and ensuring alignment with our company's vision. Your leadership will extend across cross-functional teams, guiding product managers, engineers, and designers to deliver cutting-edge solutions. You'll be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to market launch, and will play a crucial role in shaping our product roadmap. This position demands a strong strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of market trends.

This role demands a seasoned leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, driving the company's product portfolio to new heights.

Skills and responsibilities:

  • Develop and articulate a compelling product vision and strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.

  • Create and manage a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on market trends, customer needs, and business goals.

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, fostering collaboration, and ensuring a unified approach to product development.

  • Drive innovation by staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer feedback to inform product enhancements and new features.

  • Develop the product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch, including prioritization, planning, and execution, ensuring a seamless and effective process.

  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities, threats, and areas for differentiation, providing insights that inform product strategy. Deep understanding of market trends, competition, and customer needs to inform product decisions.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences, incorporating customer feedback into product development processes.

  • Work closely with executive leadership team, sales and marketing to develop strategies that contribute to revenue growth through effective product positioning and go-to-market plans.

  • Identify, anticipate, and mitigate risks associated with product development and market changes.

  • Drive product strategies, updates, goals and performance metrics to executive leadership, team members, and internal and external stakeholders.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the product team, promoting skill enhancement and career growth.

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that enhance product offerings and contribute to business growth.

  • Lead, guide and inspire cross-functional teams toward successful product development.

  • Leverage data analytics and insights to make informed decisions and optimize product performance.

  • Become an avid user of Green Dot products, with a view to identifying/remediating sub-optimal features and experiences.

  • Manage performance and career progression discussions with all assigned direct reports; providing mentorship to other departments and leaders within the company to drive continuous improvements.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • 12 + years of product management experience

  • Proven experience as a Chief of Product or in a similar leadership role.

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to achieve revenue and profit growth across a wide range of products.

  • Understanding of financial metrics and the impact of product decisions on the company's financial performance.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Demonstrated success in driving product innovation and development.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.

  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Understanding of the business landscape, including revenue models, pricing strategies, and profitability.

  • Passion for staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Ability to interact with executives and senior management.

  • Proven track record of influencing policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of financial services, core banking systems and/or payment processing required.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop relationships with key internal and external shareholders.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving market conditions, technology advancements, and changes in business priorities.

PAY RANGE

The targeted base salary for this position is $287,800 to $429,200 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
