JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Manager (MM) develops the Green Dot Network (money movement) marketing strategies to target prospective partners, existing partners/customers and end consumers via business development sales support and B2B and B2C marketing efforts. The MM will be well-versed in creating and telling the story of the money movement services and products, including developing key value propositions and creating compelling messages & materials for target audiences.
The MM will focus their efforts on leading the strategic development & tactical execution of marketing deliverables for business development sales support by working in close alignment with the product and business development teams. The MM will drive innovative B2B and product marketing required to support the acquisition and maintenance of new business clients and existing partners. Additionally, the MM will develop B2B and B2C brand strategies, by managing & delivering consumer integrated marketing plans for existing and newly launched money movement services to drive user adoption.
The MM will also support core KPI’s to improve retention through increased funding, deposits and engagement through marketing touchpoints across the marketing funnel – from partner to owned brands. The MM will drive these end-to-end marketing plans with flawless execution for brand, product, service and campaign launches looking through the lens of a data-driven, “digital-first” perspective that’ll help drive growth of new & existing products and partners. The MM leads the partnership and collaboration with internal teams and external agency teams to achieve set goals.
The ideal candidate will be able to strategically manage projects from conception through execution and will work closely with each respective marketing, business, product and business development team. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership & organizational skills, expert knowledge of GDN products and services, as well as the ability to be a clear communicator and evaluate and give feedback on communication strategies & creative work.
Lead the strategic brand planning, annual calendar development and integrated marketing plans to support B2B, B2C and business development revenue goals and KPI’s for money movement services, including but not limited to: Cash deposits & withdrawals, bill payment, P2P transfers, MoneyPak, loan repayments, and disbursements.
Lead the strategic development & tactical execution of marketing deliverables for business development sales support, including identifying key value propositions, messaging and competitive advantages for GDN product and services.
In conjunction with business and product teams, develop B2B and Product marketing strategies and materials, with an emphasis on insight-driven thought leadership to help acquire new business clients for GD money movement services, including agency-led lead generation, awareness building and other marketing materials to engage, educate and ultimately convince, conquer and convert new B2B Prospects, Financial Institutions, and current corporate customers of GDN’s money movement services.
Develop targeted marketing plans directed to support new partner acquisition plus drive end user adoption of money processing services – including customers of owned brands, GDN Partners & 3rd party accounts and services provided by companies that partner with Green Dot for money movement services.
Build and optimize a centralized library of materials for sales support materials plus to on-board and provide guidelines for existing partners - including product and brand marketing toolkits, training sheets, promotions and relevant category/consumer trend data.
Develop a working knowledge of industry trends, including competitive landscape, offerings and product and marketing innovations in money movement and give guidance by product. Articulate learnings to the organization on a regular cadence in order to optimize acquisition efforts for both new clients and existing partners.
Increase funding & deposits for B2B partners and B2C owned brand customers with targeted Marketing promotions, campaigns and initiative GTM programs that drive GDN growth, usage, and expansion of services.
Design and implement consumer research projects that support consumer insights, new products, messaging, advertising, as well as acquisition and retention initiatives. Analyze and synthesize research results to help drive business decisions.
Review and approve Partner marketing materials, ensuring collateral meets GDN guidelines. Maintain organized system and compliance approval tracking.
Work closely with brand marketing & retention/lifecycle and UX leadership to improve B2C owned-brand retention with marketing programs that increases engagement with the suite of GDN services to drive engagement across GDOT brand customers; partner closely with Brand Leads to ensure consistency of experience and ongoing optimizations based on learnings.
Drive digital content strategy for money movement services including B2B and B2C messaging & creative based on competitive updates, owned brands learnings (or A/B testing), performance tracking to ensure all partner/customers services and needs are included
Develop and deliver effective, clear strategic briefs to agency or internal teams ensuring plans champion the target B2B or B2C audience, leverage the brand promise and are tied to business objectives. Communicate KPI’s and metrics based upon alignment with business goals.
Ensure all relevant materials are approved by key stakeholders and documented within internal tracking system.
Champion & represent marketing requirements and visibility in SMO or other enterprise-wide projects.
Effectively manage budget and accruals.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
Experience in financial services - including Banking, Money Movement, Credit, Prepaid or Debit Card products - required.
Minimum 5-10 years marketing experience, or a combination of marketing, branding, and sales experience preferably in consumer-focused companies
Strong understanding and knowledge of B2B and product marketing
Experience and/or working knowledge of business development marketing support
Ability to manage partner marketing relationships
Understanding of the B2B and B2C digital marketing landscape
Previous experience working on creative consumer products, either TV, Print, Digital or In-store
Strong leadership, strategic thinking and relationship management skills
Strong project management, creative problem solving and interpersonal skills including influencing, resolving conflict
Ability to independently managing blockers and course corrections while making connections between teams and projects
High level of energy. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
