JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly capable Database Strategy and Operations Leader to enhance the performance of our organizations databases. You will be creating and implementing standardized database management procedures, and overseeing the installation, security and upgrading of our databases.
To ensure success as the Database Strategy and Operations Leader, you should possess extensive knowledge of database architecture, industry leading practices with extensive experience in a similar role. An outstanding Database Strategy and Operations Leader will be someone whose database management expertise translates into optimal database performance.
Responsibilities
Enhances the scalability and performance of the existing database architecture.
Develops database structures and features according to organizational needs.
Protects data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures and controls.
Conducts diagnostic tests and evaluating performance metrics.
Develops procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.
Prepares and presents system performance reports to Senior Leadership.
Performs database maintenance, migration and upgrading hardware and software.
Documents processes and complying with industry best practices in database management.
Keeps up to date with developments and trends in database management and architecture.
Presents recommendations for new database technologies.
Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection.
Ensures Database Administration team accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries.
Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls.
Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.
Selects, supervises, develops, trains and evaluates database administration teams
Perform other duties as needed.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, information systems or information technology or equivalent of professional certification and experience
10+ years of experience in database administration/management
5+ years of experience in leading a team
Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
In-depth knowledge of database technologies, architecture, and data security.
Knowledge of industry best practices in database management.
Advanced analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to achieve mid-to long-term goals and strategic results
Ability to interact and present to senior management, internal and external stakeholders
Ability to influence policies, practices and produces in and out of job area
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
POSITION TYPE
RegularPAY RANGE
The targeted base salary for this position is $136,000 to $207,800 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.<<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>>
