What we’re looking for:
Cross River’s BSA/AML Compliance team’s role is to ensure that our business is always consistent with current regulations and remains within Cross River’s risk appetite. As part of the Enhanced Due Diligence and Complex Investigations team you will play a key role. The Enhanced Due Diligence and Complex Investigations team is responsible for management of customer risk throughout the customer lifecycle through ongoing monitoring activities and complex investigation matters. Specifically, the Enhanced Due Diligence and Complex Investigations team is primarily responsible for:
- Ongoing Monitoring for complex customer types
- Ongoing Due Diligence
- Medium and High Risk Customer Periodic and Event Driven Reviews
- Complex Investigations
The Enhanced Due Diligence and Complex Investigations team will often work closely with our Adjudication, Investigation and Reporting team, particularly on matters such as customer site visits or onboarding calls, event driven reviews or trigger events and monitoring ongoing high risk indicators such as adverse media.
Responsibilities:
- The ownership, responsibility and accountability for the Risk Review Process, inclusive of 45-day or 90-day post-onboarding reviews, medium and high risk customer reviews.
- Responsible for completing the monthly review for TPPPs for due diligence of high volume/value pseudo-customers, following up where required and determining if SARs are required.
- Responsible for completing quarterly reviews, such as MSB transactional quarterly reviews, and maintaining up-to-date tracking/reporting.
- Responsible for the site visit and EDD call framework, including conducting site visits (both onboarding AML and EDD calls) with customers.
- Responsible for the Event Driven Review process, specifically completing the reviews which may initiate from another escalation or team.
- Responsible for monitoring ongoing adverse media, maintaining up-to-date tracking and reporting and initiating event driven reviews or trigger events where required.
- Responsible for completing the BSA/AML vendor and new partner relationship due diligence.
- Serve as subject matter expert with respect to CDD: inclusive of CIP, KYC and EDD inquires.
- Accountable for providing metrics/reporting, including key performance indicators as it relates to the Enhanced Due Diligence and Complex Investigations team, e.g. volume of escalations, outcome of escalations or investigations, etc.
- Partner with other BSA/AML Compliance teams or key stakeholders to provide support where needed. Including, but not limited to, line of business support by customer type or segment, Relationship Managers and/or branch staff.
- Provide training to branch and high-risk role staff as relevant, including but not limited to significant policy, procedure or regulatory changes and returns observations.
- Provide support, where required, to internal and external regulatory or audit exams.
- Complete all assigned training and where relevant complete ongoing education such as webinars or conferences to stay abreast of regulatory changes and the regulatory environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of BSA/AML compliance experience
- Knowledge of payments, MSBs, correspondent banking and complex customer types and product offerings preferred
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, establishing cooperative and collaborative working relationships

Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $105,000.00
