Position Summary:
The Head of Workplace Safety and Security is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all global Adyen offices and for developing, establishing, and enforcing general safety and security policies; developing access control procedures; creating and maintaining risk management policies: fire, safety, emergency management and asset protection plans. Develop and promote physical security education and awareness plans, conduct security briefings, and lead the workplace team leads in all locations to address both ongoing security topics and create response plans as needed. This role reports to the Global Head of Real Estate and Workplace and will work closely with our Workplace, Security Infrastructure and EH&S teams, and will interact broadly with our general employee population.
Job duties
- Oversee, manage, and implement all aspects of global facilities security such as: access control, onsite access protocols, capacity management and emergency exiting protocols and training plans; partner closely with our Workplace and Security and Infrastructure teams on understanding and implementing best practice protocols around access and internal monitoring systems.
- Partner with both internal teams and external vendors to design physical security plans for all new builds and expansion build projects; work with global landlords, local workplace leads, and property managers to ensure ongoing high levels of security protocols and plans are maintained
- Create budgets, approve purchases, and negotiate appropriate vendor contracts for new office build outs and physical security programs. Evaluate site requests for security support, supplies, and training needs
- Onboard and oversee all global physical security contractors and determine their ongoing schedules, duties, rounds, and roles. Make suggestions for changes for maximum impact and partner with any of our building management teams to ensure seamless integration and partnerships with outside building security
- Develop and manage all internal safety plans and protocols including emergency evacuation plans; build and maintain ongoing oversight of the floor warden programs in all locations
- Lead the workplace safety committee and ensure ongoing oversight and compliance of all required global protocols
- Establish Incident Commander protocols for all global offices for crisis response situations and work closely with on site teams, law enforcement, fire department and other first responding agencies. Act as Global Incident Commander for crisis situations
- Partner with all global teams to ensure that Adyen is following all local rules and guidelines around safety requirements and ensure that regular in house safety trainings are being maintained; travel, as needed, to all global locations to ensure consistency of security programming
- Partner with Workplace, Security, and Legal teams to make sure Adyen is up to date and continually maintaining a global business continuity plan
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in building management, law enforcement or security management required
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a corporate setting, multi-building, global experience preferred
- Prior experience managing both in-house and vendor teams required
- Experience in evaluating emergency crisis situations and demonstrating leadership in interactions with employees, contractors, public officials, other government agencies and the public, especially during critical emergency incidents.
- Experience developing, writing, and applying principles and practices of emergency management/preparedness plans including: mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and reunification
- Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with diverse groups including company stakeholders, emergency management personnel, first responders
- Strong organizational practices with professional skills in verbal and written communication, decision making, management and analytical skills.
- Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible with the ability to motivate others and build trust with senior leadership
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
