Security Governance, Risk & Compliance Specialist

The Security Team at Adyen is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to secure our payment platform, developing and maintaining security controls, detecting and responding to threats, and building a strong security culture throughout the company. We are looking for a knowledgeable security person with experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities. In this second-line role, you will drive improvements in Adyen’s Security Program to help us reach the next level of maturity and scalability.

What you’ll do

  • Own and maintain an overview of Adyen’s Security Program and identify improvement areas
  • Drive structural improvements in our governance, risk and compliance activities - security program and its status, risk assessments, operational controls, internal and external audits, compliance engagements
  • Develop and implement best practices for reporting security outcomes, effectiveness of security controls and other relevant security updates to management
  • Sharpen our approach to risk assessments and how they drive improvements in our security posture
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate security risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Work with first-line teams to implement security requirements and strengthen security controls, based on industry security standards and/or regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve and automate GRC operations
  • Keep us up-to-date with the latest security trends and best practices related to governance, risk and compliance

Who you are

  • Extensive experience in GRC activities within information security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to assess complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies in a tech-driven business.
  • Someone with demonstrated expertise and clear ideas about how to effectively drive maturity and scalability of a security program in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong communication skills to establish trust and collaborate with internal and external partners and stakeholders, including executive leadership and technical teams.
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge on best practices to reach excellent security outcomes, with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • You know how to strike the right balance between meeting regulatory expectations and providing real business value.
  • With a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, you get energy from working in a changing environment.

Please note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of The Netherlands.
