As part of the Underwriting team, you will work closely with Account Management, Compliance, and other Merchant Operations teams. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to review potential and existing merchants from various perspectives. Our company operates in a highly regulated environment, so adherence to rules and regulations is crucial. You will play a key role in ensuring that our business grows with a healthy portfolio of merchants. Additionally, you will focus on scaling internal processes, continuous optimization, and automation to facilitate our growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Performing risk assessments on new and existing customers who want to expand with Adyen, following regulations and internal KYC procedures.
  • Providing support and training to colleagues and commercial teams regarding onboarding procedures. For example, you will help clarify what is required to onboard a jewelry merchant.
  • Assisting the team in improving the onboarding process through automation and scalability projects. You will explore ways to process changes to bank accounts faster and with fewer manual steps.

Who you are:

  • You have a great sense of responsibility and strong analytical skills;
  • You understand you'll be working with confidential data and will act accordingly;
  • You make decisions quickly and confidently and are not afraid to share your opinions or ask questions;
  • You pick up new information easily, take ownership and are collaborative;
  • You are a student and have the ambition to join Adyen full-time after graduating.

  • You are registered and living in the Netherlands;
  • You are graduating within 6 to 12 months (and currently enrolled in a study program);
  • You are able to work from our Amsterdam offices;
  • You can speak and write English on a professional level;
  • You are available to work at least 16 hours a week.

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments

Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application.
