Payments Solution

As a Reliability Engineering Manager you will lead several teams responsible for creating, analyzing and evaluating systems and processes that guarantee fast and reliable firmware releases for our in person payment solutions. You are a manager of managers.

Your teams work on improving the testing, releasing and monitoring of Adyen's in-person payment solutions to ensure the high quality & stability of our products:

• Testing: we developed an advanced testing system that uses ~50 physical robots and allows us to run over 10.000 tests on different terminal models and integrations for every firmware release.
• Firmware Release Process: we work on streamlining the testing process, systems and tools in order to ensure that every new firmware version including its new features, improvements and fixes is rigorously tested while still keeping a short time to market.
• Data & Monitoring: we collect and structure all the data we have, for example, on how our terminals behave, how our Merchants use them and the terminals' interactions with the back-end. Monitoring this data allows us to spot and tackle firmware issues faster.

What you’ll do as a Reliability Engineering Manager

• Create an inspiring and collaborative team environment with an open communication/feedback culture
• Set the reliability strategy for the in-person payment flows
• Drive scalability and reliability of the terminal fleet
• Deliver the roadmap together with your team
• Have a multiplier effect by motivating team leads and provide coaching in areas including but not limited to: engineering best practices, scalable architecture design, product roadmap discussions

Who you are

• You have experience with leading a development team, including people management (compensation/appraisal/hiring)
• You have great verbal and written communication skills, and are comfortable talking to tech & non-tech, as well as merchants and internal stakeholders from every part of the business
• You are innovative, love dealing with ambiguity, have strong problem-solving capabilities and enjoy establishing lean processes and procedures
• You’re curious about what our biggest merchants are facing and empathetic to solving problems that help all merchants.
• You have a background within hardware devices, embedded software engineering, service-oriented architectures, data (SQL).

Please note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
