Java Software Engineer - Platform Engineering
Adyen
This is Adyen
Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Facebook, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.
For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. The people of Adyen are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
Platform Engineering
The purpose of Platform Engineering is to enable Adyen engineers to autonomously build and support secure, scalable and reliable applications with high speed and quality through a common technology ecosystem.
Adyen has grown rapidly over the past years and this is bringing great opportunities for our platform teams. You will work on the primary building blocks on which other solutions and streams can easily and quickly build their products and services. As such, our focus is to develop, build and run the application at scale, rather than extending a feature set on applications. Additionally, we value knowledge on how technology works over knowledge on how to use frameworks. We encourage engineers of all experience levels to apply.
Some examples of the projects that are driven by our teams are the instrumentation of our apps to provide logs, metrics and tracing capabilities, platform wide anomaly detection and alerting through different delivery channels, containerized environment, the design and testing of database partition strategies and the development of a benchmarking methodology. All of these require sensitivity to the needs of engineers in the organization to make sure we are building the right things and to facilitate adoption.
