Payment Solution

As Java Software Engineer you will build and improve integrations at a global scale for in-store and online payments. We make sure that our merchants and partners have a seamless integration with the Adyen platform.

We are responsible for:

Building the best and most efficient payment engine globally

As Java Software Engineer you will be building connections to all relevant payment methods and card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.) worldwide. Removing the complexity for our businesses to integrate them separately. Create a high-available, highly-scalable payments system and connect to hundreds of external APIs. As we process billions, we need to make sure at the end of the day everything matches to the penny.

Deliver an industry leading user experience

Expand and modernize our portal for our external and internal users. Build a foundation where other solutions can build on top of. You will work on new features for our portal, improving the performance of existing frameworks or building automation APIs which enable platform growth in a scalable way. You will be focusing on providing APIs and UIs to our Merchants to enable self-service.

Modernize our Identity & Access Management system

Modernize our Identity & Access Management system to support new authentication models like SAML and OAuth2.0. Centralizing our authorisation framework to be able to perform Cross-domain Identity Management on our platform.

Who you are:

• You have experience with Core Java, web services, REST APIs and SQL/PostgreSQL
• You enjoy working on automation and improvement of internal processes with cross-functional teams
• You are able to define, implement and monitor performance KPIs to quickly identify opportunities for improvement in existing systems
• You like to challenge the status quo and ask the ‘why’ question
• You think about how businesses would consume and benefit from your changes
• You enjoy to work together with Product Designers and Frontend Engineers
• You have a sharp eye for detail, like to work precisely yet pragmatic
• You know how to get things done while reaching out and involving other people to hear different perspectives

Please note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
